I thought I'd make it clear that Dokuga is the best online communities I've ever been apart of.

I say this because anyone that knows me personally knows I constantly bitch about the quality of certain fandoms. (For example see any Supernatural message board. I mean yeesh) I normally tend to stay more of an anon member, since some of the sheer stupidity that runs rampant in some communities tempts me to troll the hell out of them (not that I do, but the temptation is there).

A month or so back I noticed a member of Dokuga was trying to pass off an official image/japanese fan art manipulation as their own work. Nothing pisses me off more than plagiarism, so I commented on the picture expressing this (though I admit I was out of line in doing so, I should have let the admins handle it) and reported the image. The mods quickly took care of the matter and all was well in Jockey Town.

So today I'm reading an article on art theft and decided to see if this Dokuga user's image has been taken down/had comments edited to express credit. I get an error saying 'I am not allowed to view this user's image'. Me, being a jackass, thought that sounded like I was banned from this user's submissions.

In the past I've gotten backlash for reporting art theft. Worst case being when I was 15 I pointed out someone stealing from a japanese fanart site and claiming it as their own. I was banned from the board. Why? Because all of the jerks friends said I was just a jealous bitch and they were chummy with the mods.

Even though I received nothing but love from Dokuga, I didn't want to associate myself with a controlled community that let art theft slide (how much of a hypocrite am I, posting on deviantart?). (My assumption being they left the image on the site and just blocked me from hassling the user). I learned it's best not to fight in these situations (see the jealous bitch comment above) so I just wanted to bow out quietly from the community.

Unsure of how to delete my account, I went to the Dokuga chat section and asked as much. A chatroom mod quickly explained that I wasn't banned from the user's page. But that the image was deleted and that the 'you're not allowed' error message was just misleading. This would have been a perfect opportunity for this mod to point out how stupid and irrational I was and I wouldn't have blamed her. But instead thanks me for my concern and welcomed all future criticism .

Craziness. I know in my internet experiences, it's extremely rare for anyone to thank me for acting like an ass and than ask me how they could have made my viewing experience better. I've never been to a community so friendly and eager to help its members, especially when they were acting like assumption making turd-burglars like myself.

So if you're a Sesskag fan and haven't visited Dokuga already, I highly recommend you do. Great-great-great site.
